Mobile barbers,
at your door.
A proper barber's cut at home, at work or before the big day, without sitting in a queue on a Saturday morning.
What to expect
from your pro.
A mobile barber brings the shop to you: clippers, trimmers, a cape, a neck brush and a mirror. All you need is a chair, a bit of floor space and a socket. Most cuts take the same time as in a shop, and you skip the wait and the travel.
It works well for busy dads who want the kids done in one go, for someone housebound or in a care home, for offices that want a barber in once a month, and for groomsmen on a wedding morning. It also suits anyone who just wants the same barber every few weeks without having to book around opening hours.
On AYS Concierge you put in your postcode and see mobile barbers who cover your area. Standard cuts such as a skin fade, a scissor cut or a beard trim usually have a fixed price shown before you book. For a group, a wedding or a regular workplace visit, you can request quotes from local barbers and choose the one that suits you.

Skin fade
Faded down to the skin at the back and sides, blended into the length on top. Tell them where you want the fade to start.
Scissor cut
A longer style cut with scissors rather than clippers, good for textured or wavy hair that needs shape kept.
Beard trim and line up
Beard shaped and balanced, cheek and neck lines cleaned up with a trimmer or open razor finish.
Hot towel shave
Hot towels to soften the hair, then a close shave with a razor. Takes a little longer than a trim.
Kids haircuts
A barber who is patient with fidgety children, cutting at home where they feel comfortable. Siblings can be done together.
Wedding morning group
Groom, best man and groomsmen cut and tidied at the venue or home, timed around the photographer.
Care home and housebound visits
A simple tidy cut for someone who cannot easily get to a shop, done carefully in their own chair.
Workplace barber days
A barber sets up in a meeting room and staff book slots through the day. Usually arranged as a quote.

How the price
is worked out
Single cuts, beard trims and shaves are usually fixed price, so you see the total before you book. Groups, weddings and workplace days work better as a quote request. What changes the price: the type of cut and how long it takes, whether you add a beard or shave, how many people are being cut at the same address, the time of day, and how far the barber has to travel to you.
How to get
ready
- Set out a straight-backed chair, ideally on a hard floor or with a sheet underneath for easy sweeping.
- Have a plug socket nearby, as some barbers use corded clippers for the final finish.
- Show a photo of the cut you want, especially if it is your first booking with a new barber.
- Come with clean, dry hair unless the barber has asked for it to be washed and damp.
- For a group, put everyone in order and have the next person ready, so nobody is waiting around.
Choosing the right pro
Every barber passes a photo ID check and a review by the AYS team before they can take bookings. We ask barbers to upload any qualifications and their insurance, and the team checks what they send. Barbers who visit care homes or cut children regularly can also upload a DBS certificate. Look at what each barber shows on their profile before you book.
How much space does a mobile barber need?
Not much. A chair you can sit upright in, enough room for the barber to walk round you, and a plug socket nearby. A kitchen or hallway is fine. Hard floors are easiest to sweep, but most barbers carry a floor sheet. They will brush down and tidy the loose hair before they leave.
Can a mobile barber cut my children's hair at home?
Yes, and many parents find it easier than a busy shop, because children are calmer at home. Mention the ages when you book and whether any of them are nervous about clippers. You can book siblings back to back. Some barbers working with children upload a DBS certificate, so check the profile if that matters to you.
Do mobile barbers do hot towel shaves?
Many do. They bring towels and a way to heat them, plus a razor with a fresh blade for each customer. A hot towel shave takes longer than a beard trim, so book it as its own service or add it to a haircut. Mention any sensitive skin or recent razor bumps beforehand.
Can I book a barber for a wedding morning?
Yes. Request a quote with the number of people, the address, and the time you need everyone finished. The barber will work out how long each cut takes and when to arrive. Leave some spare time before photos. Bookings can be made up to 90 days ahead, so you can sort it early.
Will a mobile barber come to my office?
Many will. Some businesses book a barber for a morning or a full day and staff take turns in a spare room. Describe the number of people and the space when you request a quote. The barber will tell you what they need, which is usually a chair, a socket and somewhere to sweep up.
How is a mobile barber different from a mobile hairdresser?
Barbers mostly work with shorter styles, clippers, fades, beards and shaves. Hairdressers tend to do longer cuts, colour and styling. There is some overlap, and plenty of barbers do longer scissor cuts too. If you are not sure, check the jobs listed on the barber's profile or message them through the booking.
