Cleaning,
done properly.
House cleaners, window cleaners and careful grave tending, from local pros who cover your postcode. Choose the right kind of clean before you book.
What is
covered.
Cleaning sounds like one job, but the people who do it work in very different ways. A house cleaner works indoors, room by room, often on a regular slot. A window cleaner usually works outside with a water-fed pole and comes round every few weeks. A grave cleaner tends a headstone and plot in a cemetery, often for a family who lives too far away to visit.
The right booking depends on two things: what needs cleaning, and how often. A tidy flat that needs keeping on top of is a different job from a house after builders, and a set of first floor windows is different from a conservatory roof covered in moss.
On AYS Concierge you search by service and postcode and see pros who cover your area. Regular house cleans and standard window rounds can have a fixed price shown before you book. Deep cleans, end of tenancy, after builders cleans and all grave cleaning are quoted, because the size and condition vary. Quotes are free and there is no obligation.

your service.
3 services in cleaning. Each page explains what is covered, how pricing works and how to get ready.

Home cleaning
Choose home cleaning for anything inside the property: a weekly or fortnightly regular clean, a one-off deep clean, an end of tenancy clean or the dust left after building work. Many people start with a deep clean, then move to regular visits with the same cleaner.

Window cleaning
Choose window cleaning for glass, frames and sills, done on a regular round or as a one-off before a sale or after building work. Many window cleaners also do conservatory roofs, fascias, soffits and gutter clearing from the ground, so it is worth asking in your request.

Grave cleaning
Choose grave cleaning when you want a headstone gently cleaned and a plot tidied, once or on regular visits, with flowers on special dates if you like. Search using the cemetery's postcode, not your own. Many families ask for photos before and after, so they can see the grave.
Regular, one-off or end of tenancy
A regular clean keeps a home under control: kitchen, bathrooms, floors, dusting and bins, usually priced by the hour. A deep clean is slower and goes into limescale, grease, skirting boards and behind appliances. End of tenancy and after builders cleans are bigger again, and are priced on the size and state of the empty property.
If you are moving out, share the check-in inventory with the cleaner and mention the oven, carpets and windows. Nobody can promise your deposit back, as that depends on the landlord and any damage, but a thorough clean gives you the best chance on cleanliness. Book the window cleaner separately if the outside glass is on the list.
For any clean, agree what is and is not included before the first visit, and say whether you will supply products. If the cleaner will hold keys or work while you are out, check what they show on their profile. We ask cleaning pros for insurance, and house cleaners can also show a DBS certificate.
Will a house cleaner also do my windows?
Inside windows, often yes, if you ask and allow the time. Outside windows, especially upstairs, are usually a job for a window cleaner with a water-fed pole, which is safer than a ladder and leaves the glass to dry clear. If you want both, book them as two services and tell each what the other is covering.
Do I need to be at home while the cleaning is done?
For outside windows and grave cleaning, no. For house cleaning, many customers are out at work and leave a key or access code. Put access notes in the booking. Your address and phone number are only shared with the pro once the booking is confirmed. If you would rather meet first, book the first visit for when you are in.
What makes the price of a clean go up or down?
The size of the property, how long since it was last cleaned thoroughly, and access. For homes, that means bedrooms, bathrooms, the oven and pets. For windows, the number of floors, inside as well as outside, and a conservatory. For a grave, the size and stone of the headstone and how far the pro travels.
Can cleaning pros use harsh chemicals or pressure washers?
It depends on the surface. A house cleaner should ask before using strong products on natural stone, wood or older fittings. On headstones, pressure washers, wire brushes and bleach can damage the stone and the lettering, so a careful grave cleaner uses water, soft brushes and cleaners made for memorial stone.
Can I book the same pro again each time?
Yes. Once you find a cleaner or window cleaner you like, you can book them again for regular visits, and they learn how you like things done. The same goes for grave tending on anniversaries or every few months. If your usual pro is away, you can book another local pro for that visit.

Outdoors and movingHow to clean a headstone safely and gently
Use clean water, a soft brush and patience. Never use bleach, pressure washers or wire brushes, check the stone is stable first, and ask the cemetery or church before any work beyond cleaning.
